Parents, Guardians, and Patrons of Little Axe Public School,
I am sending this as clarification for our severe weather procedures. Administration is continually watching updates on weather and is staying updated with the National Weather Service of Norman. All teachers and staff are prepared to take students to the shelters at a moment’s notice.
Buses will run as scheduled weather permitting. If weather does not permit safe travel of buses, students will be held at the school until it is safe to transport students to their bus stop. We will notify parents and guardians via Facebook and push text if buses are delayed and when they begin the route. If you, as a parent or guardian feel more comfortable picking your child up at the school, you may do so at this time. Please be assured that we do have the safety of our students as utmost concern.
The High School safe room will be available for public use after school hours. To enter the high school safe room, park in the parking lot north of the high school and proceed to the High School gym where you can enter the safe room.
